Michael Olumide Edwards is a highly accomplished business strategist, leadership consultant, and academic with over 20 years of cross-sector experience in corporate governance, executive education, legal consultancy, and higher education. He currently serves as Senior Lecturer at Canterbury Christ Church University, where he teaches and researches in business management, digital marketing, organizational behaviour, and andragogy. His work bridges academic theory with real-world application, equipping postgraduate and executive learners with the tools to lead in dynamic global environments.
Michael’s diverse experience spans sectors including banking, finance, defence, higher education, law, and public sector reform. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and a Chartered Manager (CMgr. MCMI), holding a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from Teesside University and a Master’s in Petroleum Law and Policy from the University of Dundee Centre for Energy Petroleum Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP) . He also possesses advanced teaching qualifications from Oxford Brookes University and Cambridge University, and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Artificial Intelligence and Curriculum Design at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
Michael has delivered strategic executive training programs around the world. As a consultant to LPS Indonesia and the Supreme Court of Indonesia, he led workshops on criminal law enforcement in the UK, bank liquidation, and AI governance in legal systems. His work with London Business Training & Consulting has supported senior leaders at Leadenhall Capital Partners LLP, providing training in corporate governance, ESG compliance, and comparative legal frameworks for the Ministry of Justice of Indonesia.
In the UK, Michael has provided leadership development to senior executives from the NHS and the Home Office, focusing on accountability, performance, and regulatory compliance. In the Gulf region, he has worked with Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, offering tailored training in digital procurement, strategic contracting, and cybersecurity frameworks. He has also advised major international institutions including Wells Fargo, Shell BP, Chevron, Richmond County Bank, and NNPC on corporate governance, risk management, and legal compliance.
In academia, Michael’s impact extends beyond the classroom. He is a peer reviewer and editorial board member for several respected international journals. His research explores themes such as adult education, student retention, digital innovation in learning, and inclusive assessment. He has also led community integration initiatives and entrepreneurship programs for Black and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities in London, championing equity and social inclusion through education.
